For a society to have peace there is a need to empower the downtrodden for no matter how hard we try to rest after a nice day well spent, the wailing of those on the street with nothing to live on will still keep us awake! It is on the backdrop of the forgoing that FORDChild saw its birth.
Our primary mission is to help build new families for destitute children and rekindle their hope through engaging in activities that can help them develop their potential to be useful contributors to the development of their communities to ensure peaceful coexistence.
This mission is attainable through diverse services provided ranging from sponsoring the destitute in primary, vocational, and secondary schools, computer training within the network of the foundation, a craft department that trains on fabrication of craft items, sewing and embroidery, and a counseling service.
We aim to give every child basic needs, education, and the opportunity to live a sustainable life and equally to provide a safe environment that nurtures physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.
At the onset, we strive hard to:
1. Provide basic needs: Destitute children often lack access to basic needs such as food, water, shelter, and medical care. An organization can be created to provide these needs and ensure that children have a safe and nurturing environment to grow up in.
2. Provide education: Education is a key factor in breaking the cycle of poverty. An organization can be created to provide educational opportunities for destitute children and help them develop the skills they need to succeed in life.
3. Provide emotional support: Destitute children often experience trauma and emotional distress due to their circumstances. An organization can be created to provide emotional support and counseling services to help children cope with their experiences.
4. Empower children: An organization can be created to empower destitute children and help them become self-sufficient and productive members of society. This can be done by providing vocational training, life skills training, and other resources that help children develop their full potential.
5. Create a brighter future: By taking care of destitute children, an organization can help create a brighter future for the children they serve and for society as a whole. By providing support and resources, these organizations can help break the cycle of poverty and create a more just and equitable world.
